Linda,
Thank you! I hope others will try the writing letters for release. It is a wonderful, uplifting feeling to get everything on paper, and then get rid of the paper in a way they see fit. My energy level has soared. I really had no idea just how much emotional clutter I needed to release. Fantastic advice!!

Love it! Great job - particularly on the letters, that has helped you to clear emotional clutter at the deepest level. Fantastic!

Linda,
I didn't think I kept journals until I realized all the calenders, year after year became a record of doctors appointments, recovery times from surgery, etc.I've been working on healing and the last thing I feel I need is reminders from times I've missed work from surgery, and the tough times that followed due to no health insurance at the time. I was very happy to shred everyone of them. I also took your fantastic advice and had written some letters and shredded them in my shredder. What a wonderful release! I had no idea just how much was weighing me down, and cluttered my mind until I began writing.Matter of fact, just today I had some thoughts creeping in my head about a letter I had written last week. So I knew there was more to write. I did just that, and ran the letter through the shredder. I can't thank you enough for this article on release! I had no idea just how much was holding me into the past. While I've developed some clutter clearing muscle it was always with physical items. This time it's been an emotional release of clutter, and I'm really enjoying my energy level, and clear mind. (((((Thank you!)))))

That's a wonderful suggestion Ginny - and great noticing on your part. I think this is a very helpful suggestion. It's amazing how those thoughts sneak in there without our noticing. This is a wonderful way to become more aware of that. Thank you for sharing.

HI Pandora,
I find that keeping journals is a very individual thing - for example, Oprah Winfrey often talks about her journals and the fact that she keeps them and often goes back to read through them. I have never felt the need or desire to keep journals. Usually, as soon as one is full, I will destroy it. I use journaling to help me work through things and understand things at a deeper level. I feel that once I've written something I really don't need to re-visit it. So I would never keep journals. However, I know people often keep them because they want to look back. I can also see that it would be particularly helpful if you were considering writing a memoir (as I'm sure Oprah will do).

I think you just have to be clear on what you want to do and why you're doing it. Many people keep them just because they think they 'should' but then they just sit there gathering dust. I think it might be helpful to ask yourself what you want to do and why. There is no wrong answer, it's just being clear about your purpose. Hope that helps.

I recently read a book that suggested becoming very aware each time a negative thought about myself or someone else comes into my mind. The suggestion was to couple the realization with a motion. I have found this very effective in helping me to realize how many thoughts I had that were not positive. I have always thought of myself as an update and positive person, yet there I was thinking the "worst" of myself and others. I am working hard to suspend the need to judge anyone -- including me!

I found more calenders and it had health symptoms noted on them; cane used for 5 days, double vision on and off 2 weeks, nausea a few days in a row. Of course I shredded them today.I know people keep journals from the past. I guess I was keeping a health journal maybe for my neurologist, or for myself to see if there was a pattern. There never has been a pattern, and I never once showed a calender to my doctor. I'm wondering what's your recommendations regarding keeping journals?

Pandora, I'm not surprised that cleaning and clutter clearing lift your energy. It sounds like it's something that you have a natural gift for. It has a positive effect on everyone, although the process of doing it doesn't energize everyone - for example, I really have to be in the right mood to be able to sort through papers and organize things like my file cabinet (which isn't often!) It's great that it energizes you to do it because the benefits of having a beautiful environment are tremendous. Keep noticing what else lifts your energy and do more of it :)

Linda,

Last night I was thinking about energy tip 29 in your book,(30 energy tips to improve your income)about being aware of my energy. I was thinking what does make me feel good, and lift my energy? Believe it or not cleaning, and clutter clearing my home makes me so happy. To be able to beautify my environment makes me thrive. Today for some reason the file cabinet seemed to get my attention. I had no idea how much 'illness' needed to be released from my files, and my life! I am extremely grateful the Universe brought this to my attention. It was way past due!
