How Feng Shui Can Help You Sell Your Home
It’s a buyer’s real estate market. Home sales are down, while properties are being foreclosed at an alarming rate. There are too many homes for sale, and too few buyers.
But this is good news for you if you follow the principles of Feng Shui… and if you’re willing to put a little energy toward "clearing" your home and your mind of negative energy.
How Sandra the realtor used Feng Shui to sell her “unsaleable” home
Sandra told me about her house that just wouldn’t sell. Unfortunately, she’d moved into a new home already, and so was paying two mortgages.
She was a realtor, so she obviously knew how to sell houses. As she described the house to me, I knew something deeper than a lousy real estate market was mucking up the works. The house was in a great neighborhood, was in very good condition, and was priced right. Her realtor friends were as baffled as she as to why the house wouldn’t sell.
When I visited the house it was empty… no furniture, or other things to make it look more homey. Sandra wondered if the house should be staged - filled with furniture and other goodies. I told her I didn't think so. In my experience, you don’t necessarily have to stage a house to get it sold.
But my curiosity was piqued...
I didn’t know much about Sandra, since we’d only briefly talked at a networking meeting. So, I mentioned what I was feeling.
Sure enough, she said that she’d just gone through a very nasty divorce. She was angry... still. Her ex treated her badly and tried to keep the house for himself.
She was also sad that her marriage had ended. Sandra got the house in the divorce, which explained why she was selling it now.
We all pick up on the energy of a space…
Others who walked through the house would feel that same anger and sadness. That, Sandra finally understood, was why it wasn’t selling. You, me... everyone will sense the energy of a space, even if they can’t identify the exact feeling or put words to it.
Prospective buyers walked in, sensed the sadness and anger, and walked out. Although they might just say “it didn’t feel right,” the result is the same – no sale.

To help Sandra sell the house, here’s what I did….
You may be familiar with space clearing… burning a bundle of sage and all that. I use specially tuned Tibetan bells.
We cleared out the negative energy. Then, I asked Sandra to throw away the junk in the basement that her husband had left. Simple and painless.
This all took place just before Christmas, typically a difficult time of year to sell a house. The house sold between Christmas and New Years, just a few weeks after the consultation.
