We'll be leaving for Phoenix in just a few days. Last year, my husband, Jeff, and I started a one-year Investment/Wealth Building Program (called The Big Table) with 'The Millionaire Maker', Loral Langemeier (this is a picture of me with Loral in May). We just completed the program this May and are now in the Alumni program where we will network with even more great people from all of the Big Table programs.
This program has been so valuable in helping us understand finance, business, taxes, investing and, most importantly, having the right mindset to be successful.
Our first Alumni program takes place in Phoenix this month, and we'll have the opportunity to meet Michael Gerber, author of the E-Myth (a must-read for all business owners) and Jay Abraham, who helps companies become more successful - he's helped companies make billions, and is a millionaire himself.
Loral is a very successful multi-millionaire and she, quite literally, coaches people to become millionaires themselves. Masterminding and coaching is so valuable for helping you create a bigger vision and for keeping you on track. All of the successful people I've met continue to receive coaching themselves, and Loral is no exception. She has several great books - if you want to find out more about her, here's a link to her web site.
Feature Article:
"Making An Entrance!"
by Linda Binns, Your Feng Shui Coach
If you are even a bit familiar with the concepts behind Feng Shui, then you probably know that one of the most important features of your home is your front door. The entrance to your home represents the point where all energy flows, and where you invite good opportunities and good people into your home.
But what if the front door of your home isn't the focal point? There are several situations that can cause this - garages jutting out (a common design feature in modern American homes), trees or tall shrubs growing in front of the house, or a main entrance that is at the side of the house. Regardless of the reason, if your front door isn't the focal point of your home, you will have difficulty attracting positive, prosperous energy into your living space.
If the problem is a tree or a large plant blocking the view of the front door, you may be able to take care of this by removing the tree or plant (depending on just how large it is). You may also be able to improve this situation by pruning the tree or plant, so it doesn't directly block the view of your front door.
If your front door isn't the focal point because of the architectural design of the home, however you will have to get a little more creative. One of the things that you can do to help bring the focus to your home's entrance is to paint the door a warm, inviting color, red is a great choice for this. Stay away from neutral or dull colors, which can obscure your home's entrance.
Another thing you can do to attract the energy and help it flow through your home's entrance is to place a water feature near your front door, such as a fountain or small pond. If this is not feasible, you can use moving objects, such as wind chimes or flats, to represent the flow of water. Sculptures with wavy, flowing shapes can also help create a flow of positive energy to brighten up your home's entrance.
A third way to help make your front door the focal point of your home is by using landscaping. Brightly colored flowers, hanging baskets, and small flowering shrubs can all help to accent your home's entrance to make it warm and inviting for your guests.
As you can see, building up your home's entrance so it is the first thing people see when they approach your home doesn't have to be difficult. With a few accents and a little paint, you can make an entrance that invites both positive energy and positive people.

Feng Shui Success Story:
Sandra (not her real name) is a realtor. I sat next to her at a networking meeting one day when she shared that she was facing a difficult situation. She had a house on the market that just would not sell. She had already moved into a new home and so was paying two mortgages. She couldn't keep this up for much longer.
As a realtor, Sandra obviously knew what to do to a home for it to sell. The house was in a great neighborhood, it was in very good condition, and was priced right. All of her colleagues who had seen it were equally baffled as to why it wasn't selling.
I told Sandra that I thought I could help. She figured she had nothing to lose, so we scheduled an appointment to meet at the house. The house was empty - all of the furniture had been moved out, so Sandra wondered if this might be the problem, whether it should be staged. I told her I didn't think so. In my experience, it is not always necessary to have a house staged in order to sell.
Walking through the house, there were definite feelings of sadness and anger. Not knowing anything about Sandra other than that she was a realtor and she had a house that wouldn't sell. I told her about these feelings, shared that people would be picking up on this energy as they came to the house (even though they wouldn't necessarily know what they were feeling). The result was that nobody felt they wanted the house. In order to help, I had to know a little more about the situation and to know if there had been a lot of anger and sadness.
Sandra confirmed that she had just gone through a very nasty divorce. There had indeed been a lot of anger and sadness in the house. The anger was still strong, since her ex-husband did not want her to sell the house, but it had been awarded to her in the divorce, so was hers to do with as she wanted.
It is often the case that when a house won't sell for no apparent reason, it is either because the owner is hanging on to it emotionally in some way, or because there is some other energy in the home (such as anger or sadness) that people pick up on when they come to the house. Strange as it may sound, we are all sensitive to such energies and can feel them, even though we may not be aware of it.
Many people are familiar with space clearing. It is often done with bundles of sage. I use specially tuned Tibetan bells. I told Sandra that the negative energy needed to be cleared so that people would not feel it when they came to view the house. I cleared the energy, and asked Sandra to remove a few remaining items that had belonged to her husband that were in the basement.
This all took place just before Christmas, typically a difficult time of year to sell a house. The house sold between Christmas and New Year, just a few weeks after the consultation.
The appearance of the home is obviously important when it comes to selling a home - but so is the energy. This is what people feel when they walk through your home.

"For six months I have been receiving personal Feng Shui coaching with Linda Binns. It has been a truly remarkable experience. I feel like I have become a new person. Having someone who is unbiased look at your life and your home and give you a fresh perspective on them can make all the difference. Linda's lessons were always perfectly insightful and timely. Linda is professional always, yet kind and warm; a joy to speak with.
For me, coaching has been a journey of learning to acknowledge and state my intentions in a physical way. Linda's coaching has given me great clarity about my life and what matters to me. Our home feels warm and inviting and really reflects who we are. And if that wasn't enough, the house looks great too! I would recommend Linda Binns as a coach and consultant to anyone who wants to see real change in their life, find more inner clarity, and decorate their home in a thoughtful and meaningful way."

Recommended Book of the Month:
Working With The Law by Raymond Holliwell
I read this book on the recommendation of Bob Proctor. It covers not only The Law of Attraction (as referenced on The Secret) but it also covers 10 other Universal Laws (he calls them Truth Principles for Successful Living). These Laws are: The Law of Thinking, of Supply, of Receiving, of Increase, of Compensation, of Non-Resistance, of Forgiveness, of Sacrifice, of Obedience and of Success. Raymond Holliwell explains how these Laws impact our daily lives and actions and how you can live a limitless life by being aware of and incorporating these Laws. A very interesting read.

Ask Linda
Alexes Lohman asks: "I heard that if you put the foot of your bed facing the doorway that it invited death into your bedroom, I was wondering if this statement was correct."
Well Alexes, having the foot of your bed facing the doorway (directly in line with the doorway) is not good for a couple of reasons. I think the reason that you have heard is that it is said that 'feet-first' is the way they take you out when you are dead. So in that respect it's not good symbolism to have the bed in this position. So it's not that you are inviting death in, more that it is symbolic of dying because that's how they take you out.
The other reason, which I pay more attention to is this - energy enters into the room through the door, so if your bed is directly in line with the door you are blocking the energy coming in and you are also being bombarded with it. It is much better if your bed is off to the side so that you can see the door, but you are not directly in line with it.
Sometimes, this is the only place that you can put your bed, so you have no choice. In this case, I would see if you could place something at the end of the bed (such as a chest or a chaise) that will act as a barrier between you and the door - do not do this if you don't have much room between the door and the bed though, this will just create a block. The other thing you could do is to hang a round, multi-faceted crystal ball (like the ones in the picture) from the ceiling between the end of your bed and the door.
